Cutting it close

My one sewing goal for the month of January was to finish this quilt top.

I have officially conquered...I mean completed the wedding quilt top for @nixietink... Let me just say three borders were a little much, but it does look cute. Now I just need to put a backing together and send it out to be quilted.

I have been working on my sister-in-laws wedding quilt for too long. Like since before their wedding in 2013. So I decided the top would have to be finished this month.

I spent the month putting blocks together and then after three borders (and by the way I hate borders, the cutting the attaching just everything about them except they way to end up looking) this quilt top was finished at almost 10 PM on Jan 31, 2015. Just barely making it with 2 hours to spare.

Surely I must have mentioned this before, bit I hate borders. 1 down 2 to go...

This pattern is Kiss Me by Fig Tree. My sis-in-laws wedding colors were grey and yellow. We picked the fabric out online together. It is turning out to be an amazing looking quilt. Can't wait to see it finished. Luckily I am sending this one out.
