I barely finished binding this quilt before the sun set and all the sunlight went away. Thank goodness it is getting close to summer time or I would have had to wait to share this cute little quilt.
When I saw this fabric I knew I just had to make something adorable out of it.
The funny thing is the same day I saw this I was discussing with Katie teaching a quilting class series for the book Simplify with Camille Roskelley at her shop Sew Katie Jean .However, when I was in the store I didn't make the connection that this fabric might be perfect for a quilt from the book.
Instead I went home and studied the book for a few days and returned with this fantastic idea. Both Katie and I agreed that this fabric would look great as the Little Man pattern from Simplify with Camille Roskelley. It was just a few days later that I cut into the fabric and started working on the quilt.
I do have to say I am very happy with the way this mostly low volume quilt turned out. The green does kind of draw you eye in but I think it is a perfect match.
This is the third quilt I have made using the book Simplify with Camille Roskelley. I really do like this book. There are at least 2 more quilts I want to make from the book. I even have all the fabric for one of them. Little man pattern was pretty fun and easy. I could see myself making it again. If I hadn't started feeling so bad the last couple months I would have been done with the quilt super quickly.
I used Sara Watt's Timber and Leaf fabric line. The thin green fabric is Denyse Schmidt Chicopee. And the backing is one of Basic Gray's grunge fabrics.
I had a lot of fun making this quilt and I am happy with how it turned out.
This is only my second quilt finished this year and both my finish were for Katie... I think it is time to finish something for myself now... We will see about that :)
